We arrived and paid for 3 nights at this attractive looking campsite on 24th June before we realised that they do not accept dogs in June. There was no sign on the kiosk window. Genuine mistake and we were happy to move on. BUT that was over 4 weeks ago and we still don't have our money back. That is very disappointing

The perfect place to stop over and visit the old town of Elburg. Very helpful people and beautiful hot showers.

Superb campsite close to nature, with small caveats. First off, the campsite is very close to nature, as the entire area is surrounded by atleast trees and bushes, but to one side even a forest. Since there is a lot of wildlife directly in the campers' vicinity, sadly, dogs are not allowed, but if you can live with that, the experience of watching so many cute animals run around the trees is really fun. The people running the site were really nice and helpful in my experience, and in general, it was a very welcoming atmosphere. No matter the language, some way of communication could always be found, and there was just an underlying kindness in every interaction I had. One thing I had no issue with but some may, is that cars need to stay out front in the parking lot save for groceries. But when you're vacationing in the Netherlands, you probably have bikes anyway, so needing the car onsite shouldn't be anything too frequent with the next Jumbo just down the road. For cooking, you should however bring gas, since the energy grid is just enough to keep your fridge, lights and chargers going. Electric stoves or kettles can overwhelm the system, I learned that the hard way. Still, this is one of the most beautiful (while still affordable!) campsites I've visited, and if you can live with the caveats, it would certainly be my top pick in the area. There are lots to choose from, but I dont think any campsite in the vicinity can offer this close an experience in nature and wildlife. Also, if you do not have a Caravan or Tent or anything, you can rent a small hut instead of bringing your own home. The upcharge is not much, and if you haven't yet invested in camping but still want to experience this area, they are highly recommended.
