We stayed at the Uilenburg from Friday, August 8th to Monday, August 11th; a family with 3 adult children, 1 trailer tent, and 3 small tents. We were pitched in field B, in 2 sunny spots (7 and 8). It's a beautiful, green campsite, with very hospitable and cheerful managers. The nearby harbor with rental boats is fantastic; from there you can easily sail to the large lakes. Despite the campsite being almost full, it's an oasis of tranquility, nestled amidst expansive meadows, lakes, ditches, and streams. Sneek is only a 5-minute drive away. We'd love to come back!

We spent three weeks at De Uilenburg and had a wonderful time. The site is very clean, quiet, and idyllic, and the owners are super friendly and accommodating. From here, it's an ideal base for bike rides in the surrounding Frisian countryside, longer car trips, or excursions on the boats rented out by the owners. Today we rented a beautiful sloop. The friendly owner gave us excellent explanations and good advice about the sloop and sailing. We were given several routes. It was a beautiful route through nature and old towns. If you want to take a beautiful sloop tour through Friesland, I highly recommend Recreatiepark de Uilenburg. We'll definitely go again!
