A fantastic place to walk through the dunes and then be rewarded with a magnificent view of the North Sea!

We're hiking with our bikes and dog and received a very friendly welcome at De Zeester. We were given a beautiful (and only!) spot to pitch our tent and a key to a personal toilet and shower. For a very reasonable price. The campsite owner even came by to ask if everything was alright, and shortly after, to our great surprise, she brought us two chilled beers with a bottle opener. The campsite guests are also incredibly friendly. The sunset was a treat, visible from the dune, a one-minute walk away. What a wonderful experience!

We had a camping spot near this campsite. They didn't rent out electric bikes at our campsite. And we really wanted to have them for a day trip to Alkmaar. They advised us to inquire at campsite De Zeester. Today, we went there on time. We were received kindly and told that arriving at 10 o'clock was reasonably early. We were able to rent two electric bikes. After some administrative formalities, the bikes were presented. They were two good-looking bikes that were checked right in front of us. Everything worked. Brakes, lights. The tire pressure was checked. We were given an extra lock to chain the two bikes together if we were to park them somewhere. The bikes performed well. On eco mode, we easily made it to Alkmaar. Unfortunately, the brakes on one of the bikes squeaked. But fortunately, it didn't detract from the braking quality. Although the bikes technically had to be returned before 6 p.m., we were given permission to return them a little later, because we didn't want to leave Alkmaar until 6 p.m. It was nice that this was possible. Friendly service and good bikes.
