The lakes and mountains south of Munich, from the Starnberger See and the Ammersee to the Tegernsee, the Walchensee and Garmisch-Partenkirchen below the Zugspitze. Campsites sit on the lakeshores and in the Alpine valleys. Close to Munich, so the lakes are busy on summer weekends.
