About camping in Thuringian Forest

A long wooded ridge across southern Thuringia, crossed by the Rennsteig, one of the oldest long-distance trails in Germany. Campsites lie in the valleys and by the reservoirs of the upper Saale, such as the Hohenwarte lake. The area is drawn by district, so it reaches into the farmland on both sides of the ridge.
