About camping in Ameland
A Wadden island of four villages, reached by ferry from Holwerd in about forty five minutes. Beach and dunes along the whole north side, mud flats and birds on the south, and distances small enough to do everything by bike. Quieter than Texel and Terschelling, and the sky at night is genuinely dark.
