It was a relaxing autumn visit. Beautiful surroundings. Pleasant, small-scale, and quiet campsite. Excellent underfloor heating! Sanitary facilities are really basic.

If you love authenticity, nature, and animals, this is the place to be! We stayed in the turf hut Meesterkamp *with* our own little goat, Greet. An incredibly sweet (and stubborn 😉) goat that you get to feed yourself for a week, take to the pasture, and cuddle with. You can also take him for a walk, but we soon found out that you need patience and muscle power for that, haha. The turf hut itself is authentic, and for some, that also means "simple." A small three-burner stove, no sofa, but comfortable chairs by the fireplace, and no modern luxury, yet you won't be lacking anything! The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the bread delivery service is highly recommended. The only downsides for us were the shower (no mixer tap, which can be dangerous with small children) and the lack of a shower screen or curtain, meaning the entire bathroom gets wet. The beds were not comfortable for us, but this is of course very personal. Someone else might find them comfortable. The Wi-Fi is fair to good during the day, but in the evening it is a disaster or completely absent. If you sit at the reception during the day, you have good Wi-Fi, so we recommend downloading your movie, series, or book there in advance for the evening. Also, there are no power outlets in the alcove beds, but there are near the beds. Another tip is therefore to bring an extra-long charging cable for your mobile phone or an extension cord. All in all, we personally enjoyed ourselves immensely, and this is a perfect base for exploring the beautiful surroundings.
