Over the past few days, we have been moored with our boat at campsite “De 4elementen” near Stroobos/Gerkesklooster. It is located on the Hoendiep, a dead-end offshoot of the Van Starkenborg Canal. We actually intended to stay for one night, but it was so beautiful and peaceful that it turned into three. There is room for about 9 boats. It is a good place to swim. It is a truly beautiful site with a lovely lawn, many flowers, and good sanitary facilities, including a washing machine. The campsite is furnished with great care and taste. You can rent a yurt there, among other things. There are also pitches by the canal where you can see all kinds of boats passing by. The staff is very friendly. The campsite serves a care function; (young) adults work and live there under supervision. We were invited to join them to watch the football match via the projector. The harbor master is very helpful and has a good sense of humor. You can order sandwiches there, and snacks are also available. There are also nice souvenirs, including painted birdhouses. There is a restaurant in the village. A little further along the Hoendiep, you can refuel, and there is a watersports shop. Beautiful bike rides can be taken from the campsite. You can also enjoy lovely walks in the surrounding area. We will definitely come back here.

Very nice park like camping site, fully equipped. Close to canal. Friendly service personnal. Enjoyed staying there, no noise from bypassing ships. Need bicycle to visit shops or restaurants.
