Disappointing. Stayed in the cheapest cabin. No heating, no cover or sleeping bag provided (even on request) - with only 5 degrees Celsius outside at night, so it was a very cold night. The toilets and showers nearby were locked, the only facilities available were on the opposite side of the camping, which is unreasonable and inhumane. Fortunately I had a bicycle - otherwise it would have been a 10-12 minute walk each way. The top of everything was when I locked the cabin from inside and got stuck, with the lock broken and no possibility to leave the cabin. Fortunately I had a phone with me and managed to get and call the emergency number. A guy with a cigarette in his mouth came and opened the door with a crowbar. At least he was human enough to apologise - differently from the front desk staff next morning, who never did. The prices of the larger cabins are exorbitant, given the proximity to the tulip fields and nature reserve. Despite some nice nature around, the camping ground itself is nothing special - no decorations, no flowers. Perhaps it is somewhat nicer in the season.

We saw on a billboard that it was being rented out and sold as a holiday villa for a price you could also buy a house for, without all the rules of a holiday park. The “holiday villa” turned out to be more of a Tiny House, as everything is extra small; we really felt claustrophobic in the small living room and bedroom. There was no entertainment for the children, and the children's pool was closed for a week because the water had been deemed unsafe. You think you are near Bloemendaal, but that is an hour's bike ride away. You are actually closer to Hillegom, a 10-minute bike ride away, but I don't think that sounds appealing for a residence. There wasn't a supermarket either, just a restaurant, but the children wanted a snack bar. The previous owner probably had a dog in the cottage, because we found dog hairs here and there. The barking at night didn't exactly cheer us up either, so yes, 1 star is still too much for the expensive holiday, which ultimately wasn't a holiday for the children or us due to all the irritations.

Unfortunately, the website and name of Holiday Park Marinapark Residentie Bloemendaal were a bit misleading for us. First of all, the surroundings are great, and the attention to the dog is also excellent. Construction of the park has been halted by the municipality, which is why there are only 5 or 6 chalets. The chalet would have been fine if it had had air conditioning. There are only 2 chalets with air conditioning, but according to the brochure, you could rent a portable air conditioner for 17.50 per day, but that's not possible there. Without air conditioning, it was 36.6 degrees Celsius for one day. If air conditioning had been available, the 2-star rating for the chalet rooms would have been a 4. The advertisement mentioned a shop, but it was closed, even during the week of August 18th. Brasserie Cheers is excellent, and the staff at the park are also excellent. The access to the storage shed was clogged, but after reporting it, it was resolved within the hour. One bathroom is nice and spacious, and the other is a bit cramped, but if there were towel hooks and a shampoo tray, it wouldn't be a huge problem. After a midweek stay, they asked me to fill out a survey, which I did, but unfortunately, no one responded. The price-quality ratio is disappointing, so after three weeks there was no response. I just Googled it anyway.
