We ended up here last year and have been regulars ever since. Joke and the family are lovely, open people, and everything is taken care of. If you arrive at the right time, you can even see those young lambs going out into the pasture for the first time. Just a normal, solid campsite in a lovely spot! Gwen and John ❤️

Camping de Veldmeijer is a small, friendly campsite. When you arrive, and there are still pitches available, you can choose your own pitch (after consultation, of course, in case guests who have reserved the pitch arrive soon). There are beautiful tall trees, so you can choose whether you want the sun in your tent in the morning or in the evening (or vice versa, of course). In recent years, renovations have been implemented annually. For example, the campsite has a good Wi-Fi connection. I could easily watch television in my caravan. This year, a lovely playground for young children was added. I've heard that the sanitary facilities will be renovated next year. That's one area that needs updating, although the facilities always look neat. The owner(s) are always ready to assist you if needed. There's a pétanque court, which the older guests in particular use almost every evening. There's also a "swimming pool." "Swimming pool" is a bit much, but it's big enough to take a refreshing dip and cool off. If you're coming during the "Construction Holiday," there's a fun BBQ on Saturday evening. The owner organizes it, and everyone is welcome. There's a fee, of course, but you won't be ripped off. And it's a wonderful way to chat with some other campers. The surrounding area, with its cheese and fruit farms, is perfect for beautiful bike rides. You're close to Het Stift (an old village in its original state), Ootmarsum (abundant art), Oldenzaal (beautiful cycling area), Denekamp (Monastery, Huize Singraven, Hennie Kuiper Museum, and Natura Docet), Haaksbergen (Museum Buurtspoorweg - Steam Train), Hengelo (Houtmaat pop concerts on Sunday afternoons), and more. Germany is also easily accessible by bike. In short, a lovely campsite and a beautiful location for cycling.

Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates peace and quiet. Large pitches, clean sanitary facilities, extremely friendly owners, and all in all a very pleasant atmosphere on an old farm. Also highly recommended for families with children and much nicer than the large campsite "next door".
