I understand it's closed. Terrible campsite and owner. Filthy toilet and shower. The owner thought we could have pitched at a more expensive site because we had what he considered an expensive campervan. How dare you say that? The pool was invisible because of the weeds and grass growing up through the paving stones.

A beautiful campsite for a wonderful holiday! We had a wonderful stay, even though it was only a weekend. It started with a friendly welcome from the owner, who helped us find a nice sunny spot by walking with us to the sunniest spot on his campsite. :) Beautiful, spacious pitches surrounded by a low, very well-maintained hedge. The campsite is spacious, the sanitary facilities are kept neat and tidy, and they smell lovely and fresh when you arrive in the morning. A nice, hot, coin-free shower lasts 5 minutes. The jet could be a bit stronger, and a tip: put a light above the mirror by the sinks. Super good, fast, and strong Wi-Fi that works perfectly throughout the campsite. There's also plenty for children to do, including a soccer field, various playground equipment, a heated swimming pool, and a cozy indoor area for bad weather. And let's not forget the Drouwenerzand amusement park, a 5-minute walk around the corner, but we didn't hear any noise. The Hunebedcentrum in Borger is a 15-minute bike ride away and is a fun, informative museum. Cycle through the Drenthe State Forests to the Nije Hemelriekje and swim in the clear blue water. Enjoyed a delicious meal two evenings, for "normal" prices, at the Alinghoek eatery next to the campsite (reservations are required via their website, as full is full). All in all...highly recommended, we'd love to come back for a longer stay.

A charming campsite centrally located on several cycling routes in beautiful surroundings. Due to COVID-19, a few more precautions could have been taken. The sanitary facilities also deserve a facelift. Think of the toilet seats, sealant, and shower drains. Maybe just a quick hose down once a day. The floor will be much fresher that way. Some hedges could also be a bit shorter. It feels a bit closed in in some places. The campsite owner and his wife are very friendly. Kudos to their hospitality.
