This campsite is a Frisian gem. As passersby, my dad and I were warmly welcomed by the friendly owner, and because it was still quiet, we were able to choose our own lovely spot. That was difficult, as there were only lovely spots available. A couple of regular guests didn't make the campsite feel lonely. An old stable has been replaced by practical camping facilities and a restroom. The sanitary facilities look dated, but the toilets are clean and have toilet paper, and the showers are wonderfully warm. The campsite is clean and green, surrounded by expansive farmland and located near a quiet canal. The only sounds you hear are cows, sheep, and birds, and you can easily walk through the meadows to Lippenhuizen and Gorredijk. The yard isn't overly decorated; there are a few comfortable benches and old farm implements, so it still feels like an authentic farm campsite. The trees and flowers provide further decoration. There's no playground equipment, but if you have children who can entertain themselves, you can have a wonderful holiday here.

We arrived in the pouring rain with a small tent (KoningspadXL hikers). We were allowed to roll out our mats in the recreation room, which was no problem at all. The owner is a fantastic host and very friendly. Wonderful showers. Recommended for every hiker.

A friendly, small campsite with spacious pitches and all amenities. Simple but clean. 2 km from the charming town of Gorredijk.
