Pitches with lot of mud, much noise, dogs were barking all day long, no control by the staff.

This is an enormous campsite with places for tents, campervans and caravans. Each area is set out for 4-8 plots with thin gravel for the tent and grass for a car. Each zone has some play equipment in it, and there is a general play area with bouncy domes, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, swings, seesaw, climbing frames etc. The beach (very) nearby is enormous with vast amounts of soft sand. The site has a shop which sells fruit, veg, general food and some camping equipment, also fresh bread and croissant, and pizza in the evening. There is a cafe and beach shop that sells hot drinks, ice cream, souvenirs and beach gear, and there is a restaurant which I haven't tried yet.

Upon checking I was informed the site is family and dog friendly. "Is that OK?" I had images of children yelling all day and dogs yapping all night but, being late in the day, we had limited choice. I can say I was very pleasantly surprised with the efficient checkin, accompanied by really good humour, the site's high levels of cleanliness and facilities and the lack of noise even though it was pretty busy. Apparently not that many British people visit - missing out on a gem right next to the long sandy beach and with really good amenities.
